and then they left

hot, wet and tired bodies (figure) floating in decades of saliva
vivid logic open mouth waiting for the arrival
Hot, wet and tired
Body waters poured into the river, waiting their rider/diver
Count your tears while i wash away your fears
and lay me bare me open try me lie to me
water water me, mother medea milk me

I’m hot, wet and tired
slippery and moist, lies turn into fire
who is a lier? who lied? wo ist lier? wer ist lier?
water water me and lay me bare me open try me lie to me
I swear, I swear so long my tongue will strangle you
hot, wet and tired, open your mouth

The working group has been inspired by baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi’s (1593-1653) work, and the myth of Medea based on Euripides`s ancient Greek tragedy Medea (431 BC), where Medea kills her children as an act of revenge for Iasons betrayal. In Gentileschi’s paintings revenge is an artistic choice to alter the positions of power in her paintings. The performance is not a new version of Medea; instead it pursues to grasp these historical references through a feminist reading and contemplate the questions of revenge, righteousness, violence and agency. The choreography is a momentary confrontation, traveling through the poesis of sorrow and pleasure.
